Modern Sophistication Meets Classic Elegance at The Art Institute of Chicago

On October 22, 2008, 300 guests from a top professional financial services firm gathered at the world-famous Art Institute of Chicago for an unforgettable evening. At the Michigan Avenue entrance, guests paused to admire the regal Art Institute Lions. As guests entered, they were greeted by servers passing cocktails, wine and hors d’oeuvres in the foyer leading to the impressive Grand Staircase. Warm jewel-toned linens enhanced the already noble ambiance, while the soothing sounds of jazz music flowed through the hallways and galleries. The guests enjoyed the European and American Galleries that were open for their viewing, then proceeded to the stunningly beautiful Adler & Sullivan-designed Stock Exchange Trading Room for dinner. Dinner stations and bars were set up throughout the Trading Room, and guest tables were adorned with elegant florals. Following dinner, guests relaxed in the ultra-modern dessert lounge that was created in the courtyard garden. The garden was tented and dramatically transformed to create a sultry, hip urban lounge atmosphere. The event was certainly an innovative combination of the classic and modern, and was executed with great élan and finesse.
